Oh yes, you should like Serge Gainsbourg if you enjoy French Pop just a little. If so, get "Histoire De Melody Nelson" right away. There's a reason why Pitchfork gave it a 10 score, y'know.

Captain Beefheart is really great. Trout Fish Mask Replica's one of those few albums that really changed how I thought about music.

"Safe as Milk" for me, but I still think Mothers of Invention is better than Captain Beefheart. I guess I got into Frank Zappa much back before The Magic Band. Anyway, Boards of Canada?

I prefer Zappa overall, actually. I've listened to Music Has a Right to Children a few times, and it's a really great listen. I have yet to check out anything else by them outside a handful of random songs.
