Every post until Soratar's was absolutely awful and I'm not even gonna attempt an arguement. Pretty much.

I like to criticize things I don't understand. It makes me feel superior.

Third and finally, Why can Pop musicians and some even Rock/Pop musicians not use real drum beats? I commonly find a majority of new modern songs using Drum machines or Drum tracks. This is mainly disappointing because once again nothing original is being brought to the music genre. Maybe sure it's a different song, sure it's got some good vocals, hell it could be a good song. But that same old same old beat just gets old fast and slows music down. My suggestion find a drummer I think it will improve your originality. 3. Are you suggesting that it is better to overplay a song as to playing something that fits? Coming from a drummer that plays only by ear, it is sometimes better to do generic drum beats than to make the song all fancy and stuff. It happens with worship music all the time (I play regularly at my church). Less is more. I do agree that music now has much less variety, but I still enjoy listening to some mainstream songs. I wasn't trying to say that it has to be fancy. Or drum rolls or a ton of different beats that's hard. But just you know a little pizazz(I think I spelled that wrong). Like it matters to me that it's the same beat, over and over and over. Even a little variety whether it be the same beat and then add in a cymbal every then and again.(Sorry I'm not very familar with drum names.) Just something that keeps the music a little different whether it be the same beat at just a change in tempo. Just to keep some variety and make music interesting for people to come back to it to add some attraction to a genre or artist.

You know reptition can be a good thing in music if used well. I completely understand and it doesn't bother me if it's used every now and again like on Yoshimi it's used rather fine and I have no problem with it. But when you see artists using it in every single song in bores me.

I've seen this sign where I go to drum lessons: Drum Machines Have No Soul.
Pretty true, eh?

I remember watching some stuff before and Stan Lynch, the drummer from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers at the time, was smashing a drum machine with a baseball bad during the disco craze. So yeah.... break them drum machines...

I have never met a drummer that likes Drum machines. And if you can replace a drummer, why not replace the whole band and make it digitalized ?
