But really, I remember trying to play Klonoa 2 when I was little, trying to fight the King of Sorrow, holy shit that was hard!

I played the game at age 7, when I still had barely played many games (heck, I didn't read the text because I barely could, and since the voice acting is gibberish, I didn't understand the plot one bit!) It blows my mind I ran across such a gem at such a young age. King of Sorrow was effing scary too, and I'm not afraid to say the ending with Lolo crying made me cry too!

The game isn't BAD as such but it's just not THAT great. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 along with Sunshine are far superior, and the game does feel a little clunky at times. I like the game, but I wouldn't call it one of the best games of all time like many people.

The NES and SNES game are all masterpieces. Even Super Mario Bros 3 has more fresh ideas, suits and levels than modern Super Mario Bros games. It's like Link to the Past compared to Twilight Princess; personally, I think LttP is the best game ever made and it has far more dungeons, items and sidequests.

It's pure nostalgia. Playing it takes me back to better times, when my sister and I got along like family, when my brother still lived at home, and I was kid, and the only problem I had was not being able to beat a video game.
Better times. Maybe that's why I like the game so much. Still, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 also give me insane amounts of nostalgia.

I get almost as much nostalgia from playing Mario 64 as I do from going to Walgreens and that's a lot.

What a crybaby... Does the OP (not SMAP) give up on every game with a challenge? I think the most valid argument (IMO) that he had was the hat business. Goodness, I hated that. But seriously, if you are looking for red coins and find a star, go find the red coins. When you jump back into the level, you know exactly where and how to find the star. I could understand the slippery controls too, but it really wasn't that bad. If you played the game enough, you would be able to get used to the controls. And goodness, if you died on a level, not every level had you start from the beginning (the desert level, anyone?). I mean, did the OP even play the entire game? /flaming
I guess I have a huge bias on the game because it was my first video game. I loved it, literally playing it every day. I would play it with my parents, and we would have a ton of fun. The game presented a challenge, but still made itself enjoyable with the many puzzles and humor. I can't understand how this game is unlikable... But thats just me.

He's a really nice and open-minded guy, and he made one of the most hardest-working fansites I've ever seen.
