What is the minimum number of musicians a band must have to be considered a "big band"?

10! I know this because our school band had 10, and one sax was sick for contest, so they called us small ensemble instead of big band.

Interesting. I've played a piece in 9/4 before and one in 6/4, but never 7/4.

Most pieces in 7/4 are the progressive works of bands like Rush, Yes, Genesis, etc. Of course, Master of Puppets is in 15/4.

While we're discussing time signatures... This isn't a trivia question. But I will continuously give karma to the person who can give me the time signature of "Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois" by Sufjan Stevens. Go try it. I dare you.
