In a baffling turn of events. Coheed And Cambria bassist Michael Todd has been arrested for armed robbery.
The band were mid-tour at Massachusetts supporting Soundgarden, when the bassist held up a pharmacy demanding they pass over prescription painkillers.
NME report that he entered the pharmacy with a note written on his phone saying he had a bomb in his possesion, and that they hand him the painkiller Oxycontin. He left in a taxi, but police caught up with him at the venue.
He has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful possesion of prescription narcotics. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
The rest of the band have responded on their official blog:
"Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour. Wes Styles, long time member of the Coheed family will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled."
"We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax."

I've never listened to Coheed and Cambria, but I remember Fang Island touring with them.

I like what I've heard from Coheed and Cambria so far. (Welcome Home) Starting point, anyone?

Since you already enjoy Welcome Home, check out Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 2: No World For Tomorrow. It has a lot of songs that sound similar to Welcome Home. Check out No World For Tomorrow, The Hound (Of Blood and Rank), Feathers, The Running Free, Mother Superior, and The End Complete Parts 2 and 4. But make sure you listen to the entire album. Those songs are just my favorites.
