How is TP:HD lower than Alaska and The Great Misdirect?! It's equal with TGM, and the ratings for all of them are really close. Alaska has a 4.1, while TP:HD has a 3.9.

Out of 5, yeah. Remember that no album will get a five since it's an average, so anything 4 and above is amazing, 3.5 to 3.9 is great, 3.0 to 3.4 is good, 2.5 to 2.9 is "just okay", and anything below that is pretty bad.

I actually think the highest any album can get as an average is around a 4.6 (which is what albums like Abbey Road and Wish You Were Here got). I gave The Parallax a 4.5 personally, with Colors being the only album of theirs worthy of a 5.

I definitely think it's worthy of a 5 personally. Before that point, Between the Buried and Me was evolving from a regular metalcore band to the progressive and experimental group they are today. Their self-titled was alright, but nothing special. The Silent Circus had some great songs, a few of which are some of my favorites, but they varied in quality. Alaska was the first album with the current line-up and it added more progressive influences, and is definitely an amazing album.
Colors, however, reached a new peak. It was the most experimental album of their career, as it had a large variety of influences, and it flows seemlessly, which is something the other albums didn't do. Every song on that album is great: there's not a single weak point or song, and the production is flawless. It was also the first album of theirs I listened to, and thus it means a lot more to me than their others.
The Great Misdirect was another excellent album too, and only a few minor flaws keep it from being as good as Colors. The Parallax, while being an awesome BTBAM EP, feels a bit like I've heard it before. It's quality stuff, don't get me wrong, but a lot of it reminds me of stuff I've already heard on Colors and The Great Misdirect. I really don't want to believe that BTBAM is getting stale at all, but it somewhat seems that way.

In the Wake of Poseidon is easily better than Lizard and Islands. It's one of my favorites from King Crimson.
