Mastodon's albums get better as they progress, so The Hunter is their best

Plastic Beach is my favorite Gorillaz album.
I really like The Audition's Self-Titled Album.
I like Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park.
Futures is my favorite Jimmy Eat World album.

Plastic Beach is my favorite Gorillaz album. I really like The Audition's Self-Titled Album. I like Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park. Futures is my favorite Jimmy Eat World album. I thought everyone loved Plastic Beach. |

The System Has Failed is regarded as a solid Megadeth album by many (though RiP and Peace Sells are considered to be the best), The Hunter is getting great reception (at least up to par with their other albums, if not better), and Plastic Beach is considered to be a great album too.
For me, I'd have to go with 'Ithyphallic' by Nile. I was surprised finding out that this was ranked as Nile's worst album, when there's some awesome stuff on there.
'Systematic Chaos' by Dream Theater could count too: it's often used as an example of why new Dream Theater isn't that great, but I actually enjoy every song on there. I can't even say that about Awake, and it's my favorite album of Dream Theater's.
'Contradictions Collapse' by Meshuggah is another. It sounds pretty different from Meshuggah's later stuff, but I happen to like it more than the others.

Also Pablo Honey gets way too much hate. Really good album. It at least beats the last three Radiohead albums guys!  |

I also love Systematic Chaos. While The System Has Failed is considered a solid album, no one would ever call it their best. Everyone goes for Rust In Peace, Peace Sells or even Countdown to Extinction. Also, I see a lot of hate on The Hunter and others calling it not as good as Crack The Skye or Blood Mountain, or even Leviathan.

I don't know where you're seeing all of this hate for The Hunter, because both Sputnikmusic and RYM put it incredibly close to all of the other Mastodon albums. Sputnik says that Remission is the worst album too.
