Now I know a lot of you here don't like Green Day, and I have found this interesting how consistent they are with stealing riffs. I think you may as well. Green Day - Warning The ORIGINAL RIFF Green Day - Brain Stew THE ORIGINAL RIFF Green Day - 21 Guns THE ORIGINAL MELODY Green Day - Horseshoes and Handgrenades THE ORIGINAL RIFF Hitchin A Ride THE ORIGINAL RIFFSo they ripped off The Kinks, Chicago, ELO, The Hives, and The Stray Cats. There's probably more as well.

Now, I can't believe I'm defending Green Day, but generally stuff like this is subconsicious and the artist doesn't realize that it's from an actual song.
Plus the Horseshoes and Handgrenades one is a pretty common chord progression.

This also reminds me of when Oasis claimed Boulevard of Broken Dreams was a Wonderwall ripoff.

Actually Green Day ripped off Chicago which Chicago ripped off Led Zeppelin. So it's a rip off of a rip off good times.

Actually Green Day ripped off Chicago which Chicago ripped off Led Zeppelin. So it's a rip off of a rip off good times. Except 25 or 6 to 4 is completely different from Good Times Bad Times. The opening to Good Times bad Times is only E maj (7th fret A string root). Whereas 25 or 6 to 4 is A maj to Gmaj to G b maj to F maj to E maj, keep in mind these are all power chords. I don't know how you got any connection between those two songs. If you're talking about the chorus in Good Times Bad Times it's G maj to A Maj to D maj, the 2nd and 3rd time it's B maj to A maj to E b maj. So yeah... No connection.

The "We're not fucking around!" part of Horseshoes and Handgrenades is also stolen from Outtathaway - The Vines.

Muma said "good times," and I assumed he meant Good Times Bad Times.
Babe I'm Gonna Leave you is E maj, then two other E based ones that I don't know the name off right after the finger picking, and the chorus is E maj, to what I think is G maj7 (either way it's G based), then to Gb maj7, then G maj and back to E maj. Which is also different... So yeah...
