Idea:
Announce the official list for the categories (which should be chosen by the mods) midway through November. From that point to mid December, have nominations be sent in. Announce the nominations, then use the next week (maybe a week and a half) for collecting votes for the winners in each category. Use the last week (maybe half-week) to tally the votes and then announce them first week of 2012.
