I don't think that ever came up.

Sticky Fingers is a great album. I also have more albums from them on vinyl than any other band.

I really need to listen to more of their stuff. I only have a compilation album from them, and that's not enough to fully appreciate their work. Their albums from 'Beggars Banquet' through 'Exile on Main Street' are definitely on my list of albums to download and listen to in the near future.

A very remarkable band. They haven't really done anything worthwhile since Tattoo You though I believe. Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Stinky Fingers, Exile on Main Street, and Some Girls are all great records.

SMAP does not particularly care for The Stones I see.

Um, yes I do: 6/10 = Good 7/10 = Really good 8/10 = Great
They weren't really an album band but I still really dig Let it Bleed and Exile and can easily listen to the whole thing for those

If we're going by a traditional rating system then 6 would be 60% which would transfer to a D on a grading scale. Those are all low ratings you gave their albums, with the exception of a couple 8s. That would be a B.

Something that I give a 1-5 to isn't something I like
Something I give a 6-10 to I like.

You have a weird rating scale then. Very weird. Then regular rating/grading scale of 5/50%/F, etc. is simple enough and one that everyone understands. If you do a personal one anything you give anything a 6 people are going to think you are giving it a bad rating.

Think of it like a star rating scale then: A 6 is three stars A 7 is three and a half stars An 8 is four stars
Doesn't come off nearly as negative.
Edit: Also, having stalked enough Rate Your Music profiles, I can say my way is generally the norm. A 6/10 or three stars is good/average.

Sure, but stars are in fives. People would think 3.5, 4, 4.5, etc. I think people only think of ratings in 5 when they see a star rating scale. Just numbers, and scales that are clearly out of ten don't make people think of stars.

I just ignore .5's.
They generally aren't any different from a full rating.

I pretty much agree with SMAP, Sputnikmusic uses an incredibly similar rating scale to RYM. 3 is good, 3.5 is great, 4 is excellent, 4.5 is superb, and 5 is classic. Just multiply each number by two and you pretty much get SMAP's scale.
