1. they are some of the worst, considering i have a 30 dollar pair of headphones i bought from best buy that sound better than anything sony has produced 2. see above 3. there is a complete difference. have you even tried reimporting some of your songs in ALAC? the difference is mindblowingly noticeable

I'm very happy with my PRODJ100 Koss headphones and not being an annoying audiophile.

As long as it's decipherable, I don't give a shit about audio quality.

Let's see what the professionals think about the Sony MDR-7506: In 1997, EQ magazine wrote, "Most people will use Sony MDR-V6 or similar headphones, such as the professional version Sony MDR-7506 or Koss Pro-4A. These Sony headphones have a reputation for loud sound and for blocking out at least some outside noise. A 2001 web audio book listed the MDR-7506 as "the industry favorite". Similarly, a 2007 book on podcasting technique suggested the MDR-7506 as "the favorite among broadcasting professionals" at $100. Cliff Truesdell, in listing "moderately priced" headphones for digital audio production, started with the "highly recommended" MDR-7506 followed by the MDR-V600, and then other offerings by companies such as Sennheiser and Audio-Technica. And there's not much of a difference. I've obviously listened to CDs before, and I've listened to V0 and 320 kbps mp3s, and there's practically no noticeable difference. With mp3s of lower quality, yes, there's definitely a difference in sound quality. However, considering that ALAC and other lossless formats take up much more space, take much longer to download/rip, and cannot be played in all media players, it's not worth it for the incredibly slight increase in quality. Possibly in the future, where hard drive space is practically limitless and downloading/ripping is incredibly fast, lossless files will be the obvious way to go. But for now, V0 mp3 is the most balanced option out there.

why would you not want to listen to higher quality music? the true beauty and depth of it all is captured without it sounding like you used youtubetomp3.com
maybe your music is just too incredibly shitty to warrant high quality, idk

If you like all of that fancy stuff, by all means go ahead, but it takes something really piss poor sounding to actually bother me.

Well, I don't think you can change how he listens to music... I mean, I can't really store all my stuff in FLAC because my hard drive is really small. Some people have to go 320 mp3s just because of space issues, but that's okay! He seems pretty happy with how he has it, so why argue?
EDIT: also what SMAP said too.
