why is sufjan so high my head is full of fuck /rage umad bro? I voted it as my 2nd favorite (with Dream Theater at the top, of course) because Sufjan's cover took Dylan's song and made it his own. Several of the other covers here just sounded like the bands were playing the original versions note for note (even my entry, admittedly), but Sufjan's version of "Ring Them Bells" is very different from the original, and personally more interesting and enjoyable. The singing is wayyyyyyyy better, the instrumentation is richer, and it still contains Dylan's lyrics, which to me are the only redeeming thing about his music. |
