So I do want to read IJ, but it's so long and I'm in one of those periods where I don't want to anything, let alone read, so I don't want to waste $18.
I didn't even finish Fight Club when I started it weeks ago and it's not only short, but relatively easy to read as well. (Compared to what I read over the summer. Stuff like Foucault's Pendulum, Name of the Rose, Ficciones, and a bunch of Yeats. (Apparently I can only actually read during the summer. That'll suck when I have to read shit loads for school later.))

Speaking of books, my local bookstore is pretty cool with stuff. Like, if you buy something they'll add stuff to the stock that is related/similar to it. For example, they only had two H. S. Thompson books, Fear and Loathing... and the first volume of the gonzo writings. I buy the gonzo thing and next time I am there they've added his entire bibliography. I buy Electric Kool Aid Acid Test by Woolfe and then next time I'm there they have his bibliography. I buy Junky, they replace it and add Naked Lunch. I buy Slaughterhouse Five and they replace it and add another Vonnegut book.
If that's only a coincidence it's the best one ever.

Candide: This guy is really stupid and naive. Really bad shit keeps happening to him and he's always optimistic. Better than the rest of the books I've had to read for my history class. This one's actually funny at parts.
The Muslim Next Door & The Butterfly Mosque: BORING! DON'T READ!
The next book we're supposed to read for my core course, Always Running is supposed to be good though, so that's good at least.

I'm reading the full Sherlock Holmes series. I've read several of the short stories before but after watching the BBC series, I've become particularly interested in the books.

So you have perked interest in IJ, Elysia, and I bought. I read the first chapter and it is sufficiently interesting to say the least. Less than the least.

It definitely throws a lot at you. Like all those descriptions of drugs in the footnotes.
