30 years ago today at around 10:50 pm, John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono went home from a night at the studio, John didn't dine out that night, he wanted to go home and say goodnight to his 5 year-old son, Sean. After arriving home, John Lennon was senslessly, and brutally murdered outside his own home, by Mark David Chapman, after being shot, John staggered up five steps to the security/reception area and fell to the floor. At 11:07 P.M December 8th 1980. John Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival.
It's ironic really, a man so dedicated to peace and love, was brutally shot and murdered outside his own home, John never got to say goodnight to his son that night..... December 8, 1980 is a day we must never forget. I never knew John Lennon, he died before my time, but still, he has influenced me far beyond most living people have. It's sad, it seems we kill off those who try and do good in the world, and allow the powers of evil to continue. I don't expect people to understand, I don't think anyone in this generation will know how important John Lennon was. I can't begin to Imagine what the world would be like if John Lennon hadn't died that night. I guess what I'm trying to say is R.I.P John Winston Ono Lennon, your dream never became a reality, you were the dreamer that started it all, and you are not the only one.
