I'll totally answer for him:
It really depends on if the skip is being caused by muck in the vinyl, which the wood glue (in theory) pulls out after it dries and you remove it.

What the glue is more for is like if you have a record that is so dirty, but you can't get the dirt out of the grooves, it will get rid of static and surface noise. For deep scratches or warps that cause skips, you're screwed. Also be SURE to wait until the glue COMPLETELY dries or you'll ruin the album. (RIP Green River)

gonna do my first post on the forum here lol (you guys know and love me already so no intro needed xD) Anyways, so I finally got back one record player I had sent to a ex co-worker that my mother had, to repair, and the thing is, it still doesn't work... It isn't belt based, it's a idle wheel if I understood correctly. The big problem is that it runs slow, I can't play 45s and 33 1/3s I can play at 45 RPM... but it sounds just a tiny bit higher, and on 33 RPM, lol that's just slow... If any of you have any tips for me?

Can you tell me what the turntable is? There might be a pitch wheel you can adjust to fix it. I was having this problem with my Technics earlier. If not, you may try lubricating the motor, and also, amke sure there is no oil on the belt, because it will slip and run slow.
