I'm not a metal person so that doesn't significantly or secretly crush my soul inside. They can also be used for Hard Rock. But in all seriousness they have nothing to do with pop punk (grrr). They're used in Hard Rock and Metal to express... well just awesomeness basically. You look silly if you do it for other things, and frankly it can make some metalheads a little cranky. :0

I posted "Songs From The Black Hole" by Weezer and did the metal horns. They didn't like my addition of music. :[]

I've never heard a pop punk band that I've liked. Descendants? Buzzcocks? Teenage Bottlerocket?

Yeah people listed two of their favorites albums until we had 20 and then we people would vote albums up or down to eliminate some and make other stay longer. I don't see any of my personal favorite so I'd just resort to rating all the albums down. Also, Animals > Wish You Were Here Piper at the Gates of Dawn > All Other Floyd

Descendants? Buzzcocks? Teenage Bottlerocket? Buzzcocks yes, but compare them to more modern pop punk bands and they are not similar in anywa. Descendants... I guess I have like some of the stuff I've heard by them. And I haven't been crazy about anything I've heard from Teenage Bottlerocket. When it comes to Punk I try to stay with Punk Rock, Hardcore Punk, Horror Punk, D-Beat, and Crust Punk. Also I guess Blues Punk too, and maybe Cowpunk to some degree...

The more modern pop punk bands really aren't that similar to the classics so I have a hard time actually calling them pop punk.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn > All Other Floyd Nah... either Animals, Dark Side, Meddle, or WYWH.

Yes Psychedelic Floyd was awesome, but honestly where they really got amazing was when they became a full fledged Prog band.
