I can speak German, so it's all good. yeah, schwimmen auf dem see sounds like "swimmin out to sea" so i just associate it with all my ducks swimming out to sea, but i remember that they are in fact in a pond, not in a sea i'm stupid |

It's funny. Depending on the article, "See" could either be "lake" or "sea/ocean" ("der See" being "lake" and "die See" being "ocean"). Seeing that that title is in the dative case ("dem" being the dative form of "der") ("Dative" case, when used with verbs like "schiwmmen", implies that no motion towards another destination are being taken [as opposed to, say, "schwimmen nach den See" ("swimming to the lake")], one can assume that he is already in this lake. So, a more appropriate title would be "Swimming on the Lake". However, like several words in German, "schwimmen" has more than one definition and the meaning changes in context. Since the title is in the dative case and hence no motion, I do believe that the actual title is "Floating on the Lake". Correct me if I'm wrong.
