Damn man that really sucks, my mom smokes too, she lied to my father about it for years. She has asthma and she is diabetic, and she smokes. I am afraid too.

Both my parents smoke, but i'm not afraid. Sure it can give you cancer but... Who's to say that that isn't said to get people to stop smoking? It is quite inconvenient so that could be understandable. For all you know it could be true, or it could be a lie. Hey at least your parents don't get piss drunk, because that is fucking scary. Consider the fact that when someone is piss drunk they can actually hurt you. While if someone is smoking they can't really hurt you. That's just how I see it I don't want to offend anyone.

I can't begin to imagine how you feel. My aunt and uncle are alcoholics but I don't see them a lot, although I have heard of things they have done to get drunk, steal, beg and almost die. My aunt was flew to the hospital twice for drinking rubbing alcohol.

It's a fact that if you smoke your entire life that you're most likely to develop Lung Cancer. If your parents have a drinking problem, they're probably not consuming as much toxins as a chain smoker would. Getting piss ass drunk every couple of days or weeks won't kill you. I would rather not have my mom sitting next to my bed smoking, getting all that shit into my lungs.
By the way, I feel terrible for you, and I guess I'm saying what I'm saying because I honestly can't relate.

Being addicted to anything is bad, even if one is worse than another, it's all bad. It's a sad thing too, most people can't help it, while others don't choose to help themselves.

It isn't pleasant, and he has lost his temper many times and tried hitting me and would cuss out my mom. Believe me smoking is much better because sure it gets in your lungs but you can actually get more hurt drinking because it damages your liver. That's how I see it.

It's okay, I don't want anyone to feel bad or anything. I just want to let it out.

It's good to let it out.
Not to intrude but I'd like to understand your situation more, you live with your father?

I hate to post this here, but my father sounded like a great man. He played Bass Guitar, and if he were alive right now he could be the only person in my family who I could relate to musically. I really wish I could alter the past..

I just remember moving when I was about 1 to 2 years old with my Grandma and Grandpa after he supposedly passed away.

I was never even told what had happened... I just remember moving when I was about 1 to 2 years old with my Grandma and Grandpa after he supposedly passed away. And still no one to this day has told you about how he died? I hope they at least told you a lot of details about his life.
