If they bring some good PS2 classics to PS3(Which is what they are doing.) I might sell all my PS2 games and PS2. Make me some profit.

Considering they've been bringing PS1 classics to PS3 for years and they're still missing many classics, I think its safe to say the PS2 classics will be even more lacking.

If you don't won't to wait you could get an emulator.

If you don't won't to wait you could get an emulator. Unlike pirating music I strongly discourage this unless you already own the games, because unlike music this actually hurts the people who make the product you are getting. Unless of course Soup meant if you already own the game.

I don't understand how actually pirating another copy makes a difference even if you own the game. It's still another copy.
And it's not like a game that was made 5+ years ago, especially if it was on a past system is still bringing in profits in for the company.
And what if the game is rare or not actively in development? Or never released in the West? How might someone be able to play the game and enjoy it? The only viable option is to get and emulator and download the ROM. And you still support whatever company already. You still buy their newer release. They aren't profiting off of their games from years ago anymore. Especially if it's 10+. The only time you find those in stores are if it's used. Game companies don't profit off of used games either. Should people not be allowed to buy used games either?

Unless of course Soup meant if you already own the game. It doesn't really hurt the developers much if you emulate an old game though. Think about it: if you're going to buy a game from a previous generation, you're almost certainly going to buy it used, which gives $0 to the makers. If it's a current gen console, you should definitely buy it legitimately, but for older systems, I don't feel bad emulating titles.
