You know I would make a thread just for this. ANYWAY, 32 lovely years ago, a double album by the name of THE WALL was released by our favourite weird-ass prog band, Pink Floyd. And it was awesome.  :D |

Floyd had very much their own unique Prog style to their music. It was different than other Prog bands of the time which is part of the appeal if you ask me.

I'm not denying it of it's quality or style at all.
But c'mon, there's a reason they're the most popular prog group. They're not really weird-ass, I'm not denying their style but its still easy on the ears and to play on the radio.
I mean tell me they're weird-ass compared to Can or Gong.

Well Krautrock was much more experimental, same with any band involved in the Canterbury Scene like Gong. Floyd still has their stuff that's more out there. Animals might be the best example of that, or Atom Heart Mother. But compared to other Progressive Rock bands then yes there a ton of weirder stuff out there.
