I just hate this band so much. I wanna know, what is possibly redeeming about these guys? I remember being on rockband.com and having most of you think I was crazy. I explained my hatred, no one explained why they like them. And then I got lynched.  |

I'm just saying, making "Weezer Sucks Giant Monkey Dick" as one of your first threads is likely to have people thinking negatively about you. I dislike certain bands and artists too: for example, I'm not a Bruce Springsteen fan at all. However, I don't go around randomly insulting him and his fans. When the topic is discussed, I respond with reasoned and polite opinions about why I dislike his music, as opposed to just flaming.
As for why people like Weezer, it's often because not only are their songs very catchy, but also because of Rivers Cuomo's relatable lyrics that express teenage angst amongst other topics. Their sound can be abrasive at times, but their songs almost always have memorable choruses as well.
And thanks! I saw Heart live just a few days ago, and they were fantastic.

But you see, everyone knows me here. I don't need to prove myself. I do get hated on for no reason, but I just continue being myself, some love me though. I remember JR48Fan, KBeatle, and MusicalMafia all did, they still around? Springsteen is horrible though, I agree.
I can't believe that though. The melodies they present sound stale as hell. Rivers doesn't seem to be into them at all. And since when is angst a good subject? It's laughable at best, they inspired dozens of awful emo bands. Abrasive? Weezer is as safe as a newborn kitten. And the only time Weezer's choruses have been memorable are in the unlikable chanting frat boy way. I don't get it. At all.
Nice! wish I could see them. Don't go to many concerts outside of punk bands.

Not everybody knows you here though, aside from those who populated this site years ago. Muma still goes here every now and then, but JR48Fan hasn't posted in ages, and I don't think I know who KBeatle is. Starting (or restarting in this case) with negative opinions on bands might be why some people don't approve of you, just saying.
As for Weezer, to each his own. I'm not a huge fan of theirs or anything, though I must admit that the Blue Album is very enjoyable.
