BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLINNNNNNNNNNNN'!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111
I HAVE RECEIVED THE PS4 AND IT IS GLORIOUS!
I totally wasn't expecting to get a PS4 on Christmas, but now I have one and I am loving it! I got it all hooked up, and it's pretty easy to use. The menus are self-explanatory, though I had to look to find where some new features. It's also really awesome that I can download stuff and use my system at the same time! The share feature is a nice touch too, and you can link your PSN account to Facebook and have stuff get posted on there.
The controller is very comfy and well designed, though it might take some getting used to if you use the other DualShocks a lot. The PS Vita connectivity is awesome and it works really well! You can go wired or wireless, though wireless is a bit glitchy. I got to play Madden with my step-brother using my Vita as a controller and screen.
So far, I downloaded RESOGUN, and it's a pretty fun side-scrolling space shooter! Definitely a challenge: I struggled on the first level on the easiest difficulty setting. I also got to play some Madden 25 and my step-brother has been playing it and FIFA 14 (he got a PS4 as well, though he's using mine while he's over here). I got the new Need For Speed: Rivals as well, though I have yet to play it. I'm sure it will look amazing!
I'll be sure to spend plenty more time with my PS4, and once I get more games for it, it probably can be my primary console. It will chill next to my PS3 right now.

I may go PC and ignore the whole console thing. The deciding factor that made me shrug off the PS4 was the lack of backwards compatibility. I wanna play Demon's Souls, dammit. (Exclusives are such a pain in the ass. I'm actually pissed thinking about my inability to play Demon's Souls)

I'd definitely say that you're right: there are not a lot of games out for it yet, and it's probably better to wait until more come out. The system itself will be cheaper, and all of the games available now will be less expensive too. I haven't been playing my PS4 all that much as of late, though that will certainly change over time. I may go PC and ignore the whole console thing. The deciding factor that made me shrug off the PS4 was the lack of backwards compatibility. I wanna play Demon's Souls, dammit. (Exclusives are such a pain in the ass. I'm actually pissed thinking about my inability to play Demon's Souls) But, but, but, PlayStation Now! It'd be nice for Sony to offer day 1 disc-based backwards compatibility for PS1, PS2, and/or PS3 games, but then the console would be hundreds of dollars more expensive. Indeed, it was the backwards compatibility that made the PS3 so expensive at launch, a decision that hurt its sales in the long run. They didn't want to do that again. The PlayStation Now service seems like the perfect solution, though! While it does require a good internet connection and it costs some money, this service has a lot of potential for the future. I wonder if one could transfer saved data and use it on PlayStation Now.

I'm pretty stoked at the idea of Playstation Now, especially if it lets me play Metal Gear Solid and Kingdom Hearts on an iPad.

I gotta play the Infamous series someday. I've still got a bunch of great series to go, though. Uncharted is first, and then I might shift over to Bioshock.
My PS4 has seen practically no use from me lately, but I hope to get Watch Dogs and Lego Marvel Super Heroes soon. It will be ballin'!
