Speed mafia is a quick game of mafia, played in one sitting. Day is 10 minutes, night is 5.
It can be played here (stolen from CFC mafia admittedly):
chat.mibbit.com/?channel=%23mafia&server=irc.mibbit.net
There's vanilla Speed mafia, where some people are mafia, the rest are townies with no special ability.
There's also a C9, where you have one host, 4 townies, 1 cop, 1 doctor and 2 mafia.
Admittedly we might bump into CFC having a game, but they don't care, you can join in. They tend to play a few games in one go.
Instructions
To access the Mibbit chat room where Speed Mafia is played, click on the link provided. In the space that says "Nick:", enter your username. Then click "Go" to access the chat.
To vote to lynch someone, click "Colours" on the bottom left. Select red, and vote for someone by typing "VOTE: [insert player name here]". Press Enter on your keyboard to post your text.
To PM someone, click on their name on the column on the right side of the chat. Then click "PM". You can PM other players to talk about the game privately, but it is primarily used by the GM to send out roles, and for players to send orders to the GM. You can check to see if you have gotten a PM by looking at the top bar next to "Home", "Mibbit", and "#mafia". If you have gotten a PM, the username of the person who sent you the PM will appear next to those three tabs. If you have received a new PM from that person, the text will turn blue. To reply to a PM, click on the tab and post your reply from there.
If you have a Mibbit account, you may customize your settings by clicking on "Prefs" in the upper right hand corner. From there you can set Mibbit to make a noise when you receive a new PM, when a new post is made, etc.
You can tell when a new post is made when the tab (in your browser that has the chat open) reads "People said stuff!".
Differentiations from Regular Mafia
There are no updates, the GM will just post the alignment of the lynched or killed player when the phase is over.
The game moves much quicker. Day is ten minutes long, and night ends as soon as all orders are in.
If there are less than 7 players in the chat room, then there will only be 1 mafia, and everyone will have a basic role. If there are 7 or more players, there may be an additional player that is mafia, and there may be townies that are a doctor or a cop (or both).
Credit goes to Zack from CFC for writing up the rules and instructions.
