The Plot is it's the 1950s, it's from the point of view of a miner and an innocent man. The Miner works at a mine that was dug beneath a strawberry field, and that day he goes to work and it caves in. The innocent man wakes up and turns on the tv to find out the mines caved in with the crew inside. That's all we have so far. one of my main ideas is that the U.S Government thinks the Soviets blew it up(after all it was the 50s, were communism and the reds made americans wanna shit their pants)

If the man was not at the mine and didn't do anything then why is he the "innocent" man and not just some guy or man? Also, what is special about him? What makes him different from any other person who turned on the TV and saw that a mine caved in? Why was a mine dug beneath a strawberry field? Why would the Soviets blow up a mine that could be in a very rural part of the country?

This man doesn't agree with what he see's, he thinks something else is afoot. Jeez man, we just came up with it.

The reason the government "thinks it" Is because the mine wasn't just an ordinary mine. Not to mention the Fear and paranoia of The Cold War.

What kind of mine is it then? Uranium? Possibly, or it could be a weapons lab, that the government blew up to protect their secrets and blame the soviets.
