Ringo, to be quite honest, is a rather simplistic drummer.
I mean really he's not that great and he was the worst song-writer in The Beatles.
Pete Townshend on the other hand is a fucking legend.

1. Ringo is an amazing drummer. Most of his stuff is simplistic, not due to his skill. It is due to the songs they were playing, his drumming was iconic. *Cough Cough* Good Morning Good Morning, The End *Cough Cough* If you listen to any Beatles song with just the drums you can clearly tell what song it is.
2. Uhh you were comparing him to John, Paul and George. All fantastic song-writers. Not everyone can write a mass amount of hits songs in a limited time. And besides, of the few he made Octupus' Garden is a great song.

Also, Ringo had more drum talent than Meg White, because Ringo knew there was more to a drum set other than bass, toms, and crashes.
