The old ruleset we had was fine. There's no need to 'update' it because this is a step in the wrong direction.

1. You forgot the part where it depends how annoying you were that determines the length.
2. It's obnoxious and redundant.
3. Not when it's done on a regular basis like this forum. Hell, you're doing it now.
4. What's wrong with making more explanitive OPs?
5. That's why they go to the spam section. And rules ARE restrictions no matter what.
6. Why can't you just make a new topic on the thread you are bumping? It's useless and annoys nearly everyone.

Th eold ruleset was not working, we have had more bans in the past two months than ever. These rules are more concrete. And to argue your contentions.
1. Kicked out is the same as banned. It's not permanent. They DO get a second chance.
2. That doesn't say it's bad to state your opinion, it just says that oyou don't have to be mean about other's opinions.
3. The staff is staff for a reason. We judge based on these rules. We don't control the members, and we're not their slaves either. Merely guardians.
4. All it's saying is not to just post a link or something and not explain what it's about. no harm there.
5. We don't need a board cluttered up with 18 What's your favorite cookie/band/pet threads. Remember all the polls we had?
6. Necro posting clutters up the forum. There's no need to dig up old, irrelevant threads and question something that was long resolved.

This site has been too much, and is literally an anarchy. It's good to have a check-up. HP Zoner ran CM for 5 years with those rules and the site was nearly flawless! |

Anarchy isn't bad.
We have 4 competent mods. We don't need this kind of huge ruleset; the mods should rule by their judgment.

Seriously, this forum I've always felt was a great forum, that was a bit...sloppy. I realize this place was born from us being all "FUCK AUTHORITY" towards RBF, but these rules are actually quite allowing and small compared to most. |

If we were feeling really mean, we could delete SMAP's signature, censor all cussing, get rid of spam in general, and really tighten things up. This is still pretty open.

But I will accept the new rules on the basis that they will not be inforced in a cruel and unfair manner.
