Elvis Costello is, like, so good. I hope he tours around here again, and soon. I agree, he's solid live too. If only I listened to his stuff before seeing his show: I would have appreciated it more. Speaking of live shows, I just saw The Tea Party again, and they were excellent. I'll type something up about that somewhat soon.

Not to seem critical or anything
but
why would see someone live if you haven't heard their stuff?
This is assuming that this was an $80 per-ticket show.

This was my first rock concert ever back when I was in 8th grade, and Elvis Costello was opening for The Police, who I knew a lot better. I knew a couple of his songs at the time, mainly "Pump It Up", "Radio, Radio", and "Almost Blue", but I didn't study setlists and discographies at the time. Nowadays, I almost always make sure to listen to a lot of an artist's music before I attend their concert (like I did with The Tea Party, Yes, Heart, Kansas, etc.).

Found out today that Belinda Carlisle, 80's dance pop singer, known for Heaven is a Place On Earth, used to be a drummer for hardcore punk greats, The Germs.

Half Price Books in Louisville. The one on South Hurstbourne. The one on Westport is better but I was too lazy to go the extra ten minutes to that one. Luckily I did because I heard VU and chatted with the staff who were total bros. This one guy had Pink Floyd and Blue Oyster Cult tattoos and was a FLips fan like I.

Time to get prepped for The Seer.
I hope it's good (I know critics say it's pretty good, but you know) 'cause I like Swans and I'll be so fucking mad if it sucks because I already wasted $5.00 on Against Me!'s debut and it was total shit.

The Seer was pretty cool, but it's getting overhyped. Most Swans albums (even the 2010 one) are better.

That reminds me, I have to listen to both Soundtracks for the Blind and The Seer sometime in the future. However, not only is the gigantic length of these albums making it hard for me to take the time and listen to them, but the difficulty of finding high quality rips of these long albums also prevents me from wanting to listen to them. I don't even have The Seer downloaded, and my version of Soundtracks for the Blind is in 192 kbps.

Not that it was bad, but it wasn't necessarily good in my opinion. Too mellow and long for me (as mellow as Swans can be, anyway).
