The Hall of Fame does do a lot of Rolling Stone dickriding. Basically, I'd pay it no mind since we really don't need them to recognize good artists for us, and their cash cause is pretty transparent. That being said, the physical place actually has some pretty neat stuff (I haven't been myself, but my dad has and showed me pictures), but the whole inductee thing is bollocks.

I still want to go at some point just to see the memorabilia and history.

Yo straf! Good to see you back on here. And oh damn, you gonna see Arcade Fire! Hope it's a great show! Yeah, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is pretty lame when it comes to inductees, but the actual museum is really nice. I went there back in 2009 and all the exhibits were really awesome. I skipped the Bruce Springsteen exhibit on the top floor (for obvious reasons ) but got to see the rest of the museum instead. They had a big section dedicated to The Wall, plus a lot of awesome memorabilia. I remember buying a bunch of CDs there as well. Well, St. Vincent is coming to Buffalo, so I might see her in concert, but Dream Theater is skipping the city on their upcoming tour. Oh well.

Jump on the chance to see her if you can. In my experience, opportunities are fickle. That may be because of where I live, though, because no one ever plays in Kentucky. The closest anyone interesting ever comes is Nashville, and that's really vexing.
Bonus complaining time: In the past year, Neutral Milk Hotel, Vampire Weekend, Sigur Ros, and Morrissey had shows in Nashville. I missed Vampire Weekend because I waited a day after I heard of their show to see if college would allow it and it sold out in that time. I missed Neutral Milk Hotel because I didn't hear about it soon enough. I couldn't see Sigur Ros because I had exams that day. I had tickets to Morrissey, but he basically died and cancelled his tour. I hate Nashville. Cool city, though.

I saw Wave Mason the other night. Really cool show. He has great audience chemistry. I think he's a bit of an overlooked guitarist. That's him playing lead on All Along the Watchtower in Hendrix's version, not Hendrix himself. I'm glad he did that. He didn't do Look at You, Look at Me though, I really wanted to hear that.
He's starting a new tour next month, just doing Traffic songs. He's not coming back to California, he's mostly in the Northeast and Midwest. So if you like Traffic, I recommend seeing him. It's sad though how he and Steve Winwood are the only original Traffic members left. :/

Wave Mason? If I had not seen St. Vincent two years ago, I'd definitely go see her now. However, since I saw her already (and it was super awesome, btw), her concert is not as high of a priority as it was the last time. Hopefully, it can work out, though!

I'm surprised at the amount of people that dislike Vampire Weekend. Ezra 4life.

It seems like overpricing records is almost exclusively an American practice. I just shopped around eBay for some Smiths singles, and they were all going for roughly $20 or more. I went over to discogs and was able to find the same singles in similar or better condition for £5 (~$8). The only reason why buying from our Britfriends is my last option is because of the outrageous international shipping, which is about $12-14 for a "12 (but a cheaper $8-10 for a 7"). So I just blew about $100 on Smiths singles, and at least 60% of that was shipping. What's sad is that this is actually less than what I would have paid if I had purchased them from an American merchant.
That being said, I was able to snag Nazi Punks Fuck Off for about $8, and that was including the armband.

Fun fact, I once won a game of Words With Friends using the word 'Syrinx.'
