Merzbow. There's several on here I just don't like but I can understand them being on here (Bruce Springsteen, Burzum, My Bloody Valentine, R.E.M., and some others). However, Merzbow? Seriously? Nonononononononononono. Someone just doesn't appreciate Noise. >2011 >appreciating random noises I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

Ha ha was waiting for that be acknowledged. Love the album to bits, and I was close to putting it on, but decided it's not exactly an essential listen.

There just seem to be some major, major, major, major, MAJOR omissions.

Close to putting Rain Dogs and Mule Variations, but just thought they didn't stand as unique as the majority of the list.

There just seem to be some major, major, major, major, MAJOR omissions. This is by no means a list of my favorite albums. Not even best albums. These are all just music at its most creative points and are all so different from each other these are all different from each other.

>2011 >appreciating random noises I seriously hope you guys don't do this. >2011 >appreciating Pantera I seriously hope you guys don't do this. ............................. Well, no use arguing with someone who likes Merzbow. Pantera at least is music.

>2011 >appreciating Pantera I seriously hope you guys don't do this. ............................. Well, no use arguing with someone who likes Merzbow. Pantera at least is music. Music itself is subjective. If you're going to criticize my intelligence because I find a groundbreaking album in music great, then don't even bother commenting.

But Merzbow isn't music.

I'd probably change the A Silver Mt Zion album, but I like this list.
There's lots of stuff that I'd probably add, but eh. Not my list. It's nothing major anyway.

SMAP to be fair all it really looks like is a list of your favorite albums. If it was supposed to be music at it's most creative points I think there would be quite a few other albums on this. There's nothing from King Crimson, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Bathory, Metallica, Death, Cream, Deep Purple, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, B.B. King... and yet Andrew W.K. (I do enjoy his music) and Merzbow make it on? The Mountain Goats take up four spots? Do Make Say Think and Husker Du get three spots? And there are some definietly weird choices for some artists. Why are there compilation albums for Elvis and Roy Orbison? Le Noise is kind of a weird choice for a Neil Young album. And if you're going for music at it's most creative points, I'm surprised you didn't add Rubber Soul, or Revolver, or The White Album for The Beatles. I'm sorry SMAP but this really does just look like a list of your favorite albums. But there is some really good stuff there too.

King Crimson was super close but there's a lot of prog here that honestly are a lot more creative. The a lot of prog already applies to Genesis and Yes as well. Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Cream are great and I'm not saying they're creatively bankrupt, but since there's a lot of stuff I'm sure you haven't heard, you'd be suprised at how experimental and daring a lot of these are. Death also definitely is important to the creation of Death Metal, but I've got A LOT of great death metal on here already such as Peste Noire that would blow your mind. Metallica and Bathory, while great, aren't exactly the most groundbreaking, y'know? The Stones, The Who, and B.B. King all did lots of daring things in their music, but couldn't quite put them on the list.
Those AWK albums are far more artistic and experimental than a lot of his other work, they were a big leap and ended up being groundbreaking hard rock albums. And you're kidding me if the leading artist in Noise doesn't deserve a spot in creativity.
