I'm guessing you just jumped into Daydream Nation, amirite?
I think you'd like Dirty and Rather Ripped a lot more to start out with. A lot more Teen Age Riot type songs, and get you to like their other songs a lot more.

My turn.
One hit wonders are amazing. Rick Springfield has better songs than "Jessie's Girl" Dream Theater is not that great Make Believe by Weezer is not actually a bad album. Eric Clapton is also not that great. Jimi Hendrix > Eric Clapton Slayer is also not that great either Primus sucks.

At least you guys aren't /mu/.
Seriously, they have a huge grudge against Dream Theater. If someone makes a positive thread about them, be prepared to be called a metalfag who listens to boring poser-prog with no meaning.

They (for the most part) like Devin Townsend, and BTBAM has a decent following there too.

To be perfectly honest, I've said I love the Rolling Stones but I actually find them to be a bit repetitive. Helplessness Blues is better than Fleet Foxes' s/t. Close to the Edge > Fragile > Yes Album > everything else (is this unpopular?) Neutral Milk Hotel sorta sucks. The only songs I can get into by them are King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1 and Two-Headed Boy. (edit: The instruments are awesome but god those vocals...) I agree with these, especially about Yes.
