Creativity: The Beatles have been extremely creative in almost every piece they made. Song themes, album covers, lyrics. All creativity at it's finest. Innovation: The Beatles were the first rock group to do a lot of things. A list I don't feel like finding atm. Also, Harrison created many riffs that were, genius. Day Tripper for example. Influence: The Beatles probably influenced most of the artists even today. As soon as they hit it big, it changed music forever. Effort: The Beatles have done a lot to get where they are now. They had to go through a lot to get to the top. Also, who else could make no. 1? I have to disagree there. As if you listen to The Beatles I guarantee a majority of their songs are about love. While Queen on the other hand makes creative hits never sounding the same and all are about something different. That's my two cents.

Creativity: The Beatles have been extremely creative in almost every piece they made. Song themes, album covers, lyrics. All creativity at it's finest. They were a very creative band, yes, but did they totally change everything we associate with music? Not quite. Innovation: The Beatles were the first rock group to do a lot of things. A list I don't feel like finding atm. Also, Harrison created many riffs that were, genius. Day Tripper for example. Key part: First ROCK group. Look they're plenty innovative, but the most? Nada. Influence: The Beatles probably influenced most of the artists even today. As soon as they hit it big, it changed music forever. Ok, I'll give you this, but still, without The Beatles, music would still be more or less the same. Effort: The Beatles have done a lot to get where they are now. They had to go through a lot to get to the top. Agreed. Also, who else could make no. 1? John motherfucking Cage.

Also, I'd be fine with The Beatles at number 1, but there's just so much music out there, you gotta look past them. I can't say they are 100% the greatest.

Uh-huh.... Fatal, you should come back.
Not even half The Beatles songs are love songs...Sure a fair amount of their earlier stuff are, but most of the later stuff isn't. And love songs are awesome.
So the nominees for no.1 are. The Beatles John Cage Queen
Any possible others?

This isn't a flame war. From what I've seen this is actually fairly polite. I'm open to looking at all possibilities for this. C'mon I'm we sure we can do SOMETHING involving music without a flame war as a result.

I'm fine with Nirvana, The Beatles, or Queen. It isn't a flame war I mean either way if Queen went number one Beatles would go second and if The Beatles went number one, Queen would go second.

We'll get to second when we get to it.
I can't see Nirvana being no.1. Sorry.
I want to see what everyone else thinks.

I guess I'd be fine with Nirvana... Queen I just can't say number one. They made great, fun to listen to music, but nothing earth-shattering.
