I still say that Nintendo are going to slowly lose the market. Sad but it's true.

That was in part because everyone had them already, like the Wii. Considering before the Wii, the PS2 was like the system nearly everyone owned, I don't see your point. And I'm pretty sure the N64 wasn't even the biggest seller of its generation. If you need a different example, how is the original Xbox selling today? How was the SNES in 2001? The difference is that Sony kept the PS2 on the market and was still having companies develop games for it. Nintendo tries to phase out their old systems so everyone focuses on the new on. Microsoft did the same thing with the original Xbox.

I still say that Nintendo are going to slowly lose the market. People have been saying that for years though and that's never happened. They simply have too much of a following even if a lot of gamers are dismayed with some of the directions they have taken. Their 1st party games still always sell very, very well, and frankly that's the thing I care about most from Nintendo. They built up their prestige on their 1st party games and characters, and it's not really that way for Microsoft or Sony.

this thread reminds me of all the horrible groups with Nintendo-based names like Oak's Parcel, etc... |: //

I don't think Nintendo's going away, but denying the over focus on gimmicks and that they'll probably never top the DS and early Wii popularity wise.

Hey, at least we're having a pretty civil discussion on this. Gaming companies are big flamewar-material.

I'm not saying they're going to go complete out of business, but they will certainly lose a bit of money.

I'm not saying they're going to go complete out of business, but they will certainly lose a bit of money. And then they'll gain it all back with their next console. And the cycle will continue....

I doubt the Wii U will sell that well, to be honest. Coming from someone who loved the Wii, DS, Gamecube and didn't think those would fail.

Exactly. Others thought they would, but they didn't. I truely think this won't sell as amazing as Nintendo's previous Home Consoles, though.

I just don't think they're heading in the right direction.
