Those are the only two Pain of Salvation records I've heard so I can't comment on their other material, but even though I hated them, they're probably something you'd dig.

Yeah, The Perfect Element, Part 1 and Remedy Lane are considered to be their best albums, and Scarsick has actually gotten a lot of criticism too.
