So, anyone read any good books lately? I finished Infinite Jest a few days ago! If anyone has time, they should consider reading it. It pretty much catapulted itself to the top of my internal list of "Best Books Ever" within a month.
Sorry for the random topic, but I think it would be great to get a literature discussion back on track. Also, if you're doing lit stuff in your English classes feel free to bring that up too. I'll even discuss it with you for homework. >:P

I'm always reading something for college. Way too much reading. Let's see for school I've already had to read The Battle for America, Dreaming in Cuban, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, The Muslim Next Door, The Butterfly Mosque, The Italian Renaissance, Utopia, The Prince, The Return of Martin Guerre, and Lazarrio de Tormes.
TOO MUCH READING! D:

You can never read TOO much! Though some of that stuff sounds really dry. I remember trying to read The Prince in tenth grade... phew.

We have to read some religious stuff for my intro to religion class, but since it's more of an entry-level thing the books are pretty simple. I would not really do well in a political class, though. Like, literary criticism or psychology stuff? Sure, I could read books highly dense in that, but politics or philosophy wouldn't sit too well with me.

The Kite Runner is a brilliant novel!
To be honest, I'm reading a lot this year, but it's only excerpts and not complete works. Oh well.

We are going to start King Lear sometime next week. I remember doing Hamlet last year, a friend of mine took the role as Horatio and he would try to read it with an accent but he always ended up sounding like Christopher Walken. Funny funny

On a side note you guys should read an essay call Politics and The English Language by George Orwell. It seriously had an impact on my writing habits.
